DESIGN CONCEPT
An atlas is defined by Oxford Languages as “a book of maps or charts”. The Atlas Center draws inspiration from this meaning as each patient navigates a unique journey through their care. An atlas is a map, which is the acronym for services provided within the center - Mental health, Addiction, and Pregnancy/ parenthood. The Atlas Center is a place for rejuvenation, education, acceptance, and recovery as each adolescent prepares to embark on a strong future.
This design is a group project completed with team members Shaun Brennan and Anika Mulligan.

Despite having an evenly split age demographic, Dryden currently has child and adult mental health care - forgetting the adolescent population. For this reason, the Atlas Center will provide care for ages 10-18.

The Atlas Center will begin to bridge the lack of adolescent mental health care in Ontario, which currently only exists in Southern Ontario.
